Jane Trahey was born born on November 19, 1923 in Chicago, IL. She was raised Catholic and attended Providence Academy before earning a bachelor of arts degree from Mundelein College in 1943. Two years later she went to the University of Wisconsin for some graduate study but received her Masters from Columbia University in 1975.
