
George Presbury Rowell became famous for his work as a newspaper advertising agent during the nineteenth century. His most important contribution to advertising was the creation of the list system, which was first published in the form of a directory in 1869. In addition, he was the founder of the Printer's Ink, and other important publications of the time.
