Games, contests, and graphics are some of the most common paths of online advertising. however the most successful advertisements are those that mirror recent trends and waves of content online. For example GMC had quite a few responses when they decided to follow the recent trend of consumer generated commercials. unfortunately the results were not exactly favorable however the press coverage was phenomenal. Luckily the internet is a fairly segmented medium. The ability to track clicks and page views makes measuring the effectiveness of advertising significantly easier, and marketers can find consumers based on the personal preferences of the individual, as outlined in their web surfing behaviors.
These are a few ads which make more of an attempt to engage the consumer, and target a specific person.
