CDMA:
Code Division Multiple Access
What:
Whereas a TDMA system relegates a single call or a
single data session to one and only one channel within
a bandwidth, the CDMA standard is a “spread-spectrum”
protocol. This means that a CDMA call or data session
can fall into any available time-slot or bandwidth
channel that is available at the time, hence making
bandwidth usage far more efficient.
Access: Very
similar to TDMA in voice and data. Limited text messaging
cababilities. (usually restricted to within network
messages) Voice mail services. text-based data access
only.
