We are the agency of today," Lawrence said in a 1966 Newsweek interview about the Braniff advertising. In 1979, Fortune magazine reported that Braniff had the highest percentage of business travelers –– 70 percent –– and was nearly unrivaled in the size and consistency of its operating margins.
